26th January 2002 .... Warwickshire Police Speed Camera news |
|
Happy or sad faces will be displayed to motorists as they pass a small number of mobile speed cameras. This is part of a safety campaign launched by Warwickshire Police. These devices will be moved around the county to warn drivers as they approach accident black-spots, schools and villages. If you are driving at or within the speed limit you will be greeted by a flashing sign displaying your current speed and a smiley face ! If you are over the current limit a sad frowning face will show next to your speed. Other Police forces including Thames Valley Police are also considering using the mobile detectors.
